Hi all, when i reinstall an AIR application, i let the Adobe AIR installer handle the update.

But: i would like the installer just to overwrite the already installed files with the new files, not delete the already installed files.

Example:

I package an AIR application in application.air. This package contains several folders that get installed together with the .swf.

But later, i would like to distribute only the updated .swf files.

If i package only the .swf file inside application.air, when the Adobe AIR installer "Updates" the application, all the folders already installed on the user computer get deleted.

Any elegant solution? Or do i have to handle the .swf update myself from within the application?

tnx!

For this sort of solution you will really need to look at and automatic updating system of which the application will look online and check to see if there is a newer version. If so, it will download, replace any changed files and delete old files.

There is an inbuild class which helps us with such a thing

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air_update_framework.html

That sound fair.
